MARGIN WALKER
Many tasks over the years, starting out as a street team member assisting in distributing promotional material, eventually handling all Margin Walker related promo at downtown Austin venue The Mohawk, moving into a final freelance position of merchandising, being a runner for artists and distributing promotional material at music festivals in the Austin, Texas area.
FEBRUARY 2019
LUCK REUNION
Social media management, content creating and photography for promotions leading up to their 2019 Luck Reunion Festival at Willie Nelson's ranch, presented by Southwest Airlines. This job spanned across multiple locations, studios and venues in the Austin area, capturing and creating original and pre-planned content for Luck Reunion's instagram story and feed from live performances, behind the scenes and ticket giveaways for the festival.
2018-CURRENT
PARAMOUNT THEATER
Merch selling for touring artists performing at the Paramount Theater in Austin Texas, including Angel Olsen, Michael Martin Murphey, Alejandro Escovedo, Bert Kreischer, MeatEater Podcast Live, Joan Baez, Moontower Comedy Fest, Schitt's Creek and Hannah Gadsby. This involved unpacking the merchandise, taking pre and post inventory, creating an appealing display, selling the merch using a POS system and settling with the venue.
2017-2019
WHISKEY RIVER VINTAGE
Whiskey River Vintage is a unisex ethical vintage resell shop founded by Monica and two colleagues, Cayman Carroll and Justina Gil. It is primarily an online operation, over Instagram, Depop and other reselling platforms, with pop ups in venues and businesses that WRV has partnered with. Fueled by DIY ideals, all clothes are sourced secondhand, styled and shot with local photographers and models, facilitating a network of inclusivity across genders and identities.
2018-2019
BARRACUDA
Barracuda is an Austin venue with a 550 outdoor / 350 indoor capacity, in a historic location that has housed live music for decades right on 7th street in the heart of the Red River Cultural District. Monica was a local booker for this venue from 2018-2019, assisting in pairing local musicians with touring acts and curating all-local bills. This process involved building out a bill, building offer letters, advancing artists and agents, promoting the event online and through a street team, facilitating communication between artists and venue, managing day of show and settling at the end of the event.

LONESTAR MUSIC
Lonestar Music was a Texas music publication and record store in San Marcos, Texas. Monica live in-store events for the store, including musical acts and promotional events such as happy hours and flash sales. Monica also assisted in running the record store's social media, creating original content to promote new releases and in-store performances.
